tpt

I have finally decided to join Teachers Pay Teachers!  My original hesitation about joining was that I didn't feel I had anything truly original to sell.  But now that I've been making a lot of my own activities, especially being in a new grade, I feel pretty good about it!  :)  My first unit is on Place Value.  While I loved Cara's Place Value Packet of Fun in first grade, my second graders need a little more advanced practice.  For example, some of the questions on our district test require them to know that 521 is not only 5 hundreds, 2 tens, and 1 ones, but it is also 52 tens.  Crazy, right?!  I feel like that's super advanced for 2nd grade {at least at this point in the year}.  But since it's required, I need to figure out a fun way to teach it!  So I started the basic place value intro with a simple place value poster.

I already have made and plan on making more activities to keep practicing this topic.  This is where YOU come in.  Since it's my first ever tpt unit, I would LOVE some feedback/suggestions on what types of activities you would like to see in it.  I am going to randomly select two winners from the comments of this post to give the unit to when I'm finished!  Until then, I would love it if you would follow my new Teachers Pay Teachers store!  While you're there, grab the place value poster freebie!  :)

What a fabulous idea to sell your stuff! I love TPT and buy stuff there often.

I am currently teaching Grade 2 to my baby, so I am at a loss as to suggestions, but I would love to have something that would help me teach him these tens and ones concepts. He gets it, but doesn't at the same time.

If I place things in groups of tens, or he sees that 5 groups of 10 equals 50, he understands. BUT tell him that 52 is 5 groups of ten, and 2 ones...that is trickier.

If you have anything that would be along those lines, helping kids understand the numbers and not just the tactiles, that would be my first purchase! :) That was way wordy for a comment...sorry.

When I initially commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox
and now each time a comment is added I get four e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
Many thanks!
