Christmas

I missed the Christmas party, because I had to drive up to Canada for the holidays.  So sadly, I have NO pictures from that.  But we had a super fun Grinch party, and if you follow my Christmas Pinterest Board, you'll see the link to a bunch of those activities.

But these are two projects we did in December.

This super cute art project came from Mrs. Jump.
 "This is my family.  They fill my heart with love."

And then of course, letters to Santa.

It's a Christmas Giveaway!

Check out this sweet candy jar my friends made for me.

It matches my frog theme SO well!
Don't you wish you had one?
Well... you're in luck!
It's time for another giveaway!

Two of my friends started a crafty business {Country Girl Decor} and would love for you to check them out.  They make all kinds of cutey cute crafts.  Best of all, you can customize any one.  It's also perfect for people like me who love crafts, but really don't have the skills to make such lovely things.  :)

They have graciously decided to give away a cute, customized candy jar to one lucky reader!

All you have to do is follow their blog, and leave ME a comment letting me know you did.

For an additional entry, share this giveaway on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter.
{Leave a comment saying you did.}

We will choose the winner on New Year's Day.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!

Our Favorite Book

Our class is OBSESSED with The Monster at the End of This Book.  If they had their way, I would read it to them every single day.  This was {and probably still is} my favorite book when I was in first grade, so I don't mind at all.  It is such a fun book to read.  We had our principal come in and read the book to us.  He read it with such great energy and excitement, the children were enthralled.  They wanted him to read it over and over.  He read it twice and once backwards, for fun.  They had a ball!

We love it!
I also bought a book/DVD set from Scholastic, and so now we can read and watch this great book!

I found this video for your enjoyment.  The movie I have is actually animated, but this is still fun {and free} to watch.

You're a Mean One...

Meet our Grinch!
{Yes, I drew him myself!}

My kiddo's are looking for random acts of kindness to fill the Grinch with love.  Whenever they see someone doing something nice for someone else, the person doing the kind deed gets to put a heart on the Grinch.  If we can fill the Grinch with hearts, we get to have a Grinch Christmas Party the day before Christmas Break!  I have a pretty good feeling we are going to make it!  :)

The Grinch's heart was two sizes too small.
Let's show him we care for one and for all!

2012 Christmas Calendars

{Click here to purchase the updated version of this product.}

So I've had a ton of comments/emails about the Christmas Calendars we make.  So here is an updated post with answers to your questions and free downloads for you!

I make these every year for my class to give to their parents for a Christmas gift.  It is a lot of work, but it is SO worth it!  I have been lucky enough to have a friend come in every year and help me do it.  That way I don't waste too much class time.  :)  It takes about 2 full days to have them paint all the months.  I print the poems on 2x4 labels, and then I spend a full day {Saturday or Sunday} assembling them.  We wrap them at school, and then send them home.  I would suggest making two for the children who have divorced/separated parents.  One year I didn't, and it caused too many problems.  It's way worth it to double it up!  Please let me know if you have any other questions about them.  Have fun!  :)
