Today was our last day of school! I am sad to see those sweet little kiddos go, but I am very much excited for my summer break. And, like most teachers, I am really excited to get planning/organizing for next year. :) This week has been so busy getting all the last minute projects finished. My biggest project was their scrapbooks. I should have started earlier, but of course I put it off until the last week of school. Ha. I think they turned out really cute. This was my first year using the binders, and I absolutely love them! I think next year I'll get them at the beginning of the year and add to them throughout the year. And I'll add more pages to it. Next year... Of course I want to show you what they look like, and remember for myself what I put in them. Instead of taking 100 pictures, I thought a video would be easier. I'll post copies of the pages I used, as well as pictures of our last week's activities soon. But for now, enjoy the show! :)
Do any of you other teachers do scrapbooks? If so, what do they look like?

Love it! I especially love the activities that included their picture (jumping out of the pumpkin) So cute!! No we have not done a scrapbook- I co teach 36 1st graders although many years ago we did do a time consuming calendar project for mother's day the week before.
Thank you for sharing! Beth

Very CUTE! I love the idea of the binder!! I do a year in review! The students recall back through the use of pictures / videos taking throughout the year -- we recall special days, events, times w/ friends. Most of the book is completed from April to May! I wait for the handwriting to become mastered (by most)
I have 19 K students!! I LOVE the idea of the camera! I will do that then post it on our "very sad blog" www.mrshetrick.com ---VERY NEGLECTED. But I love the idea of sharing w/ others!! Next year's goal --I will work on that for the blog next week!
Thanks for sharing LOVE seeing what others do!!

I make each child in my class a DVD of photos set to the music they like -- it's so cute and super easy!
It's pretty cheap too!
This is adorable! What a wonderful keepsake for your students. Did you find a good resource for cheap binders/ page protectors?
Megan, my good resource was the parents! :) They bought their own binders and sheet protectors. I had one parent bring me about 10 extra binders and another parent buy a huge box of sheet protectors from Costco. It was a great deal!
I have made memory books with my students, but your scrapbooks are awesome! I know what my nieces will be helping me with this summer. ;)
Your scrapbooks are very cute. They look like they took you a lot of time-- and organization throughout the year. I bet the parents really appreciate them. I always make a movie for my kids of pictures and short videos, but with only four school days left I'm kinda loosing motivation to get it done. That was supposed to be a weekend project...
